it is so messed up.
the mother was the rightfully wife and duchess, but the husband fell for a maid, and labeled the duchess a villian for trying to stay true.
well, seems like the husband did not love her that deeply as the he claimed if he can fall in love that fast and forget about the duchess that fast.

as long as your the protagonist who looks good, you’ll get love. Villan means to be bad. But antagonists means to be the enemy of the protagonist. If a villan is the protagonist, then the hero would be the antagonist. This is how I think of roles in stories
