I don’t know about how innocent the original FL’s mother actually is, but I think Duke Heronis is still the most at fault here. Granted, we don’t know the real story behind how they got together, but we do know that it was the duke’s choice to cheat on his lawfully wedded wife & banish her and their child to live in subhuman conditions and turn a cold shoulder to their suffering, while starting another happy life with his new lover. Put plainly, he’s a cheater who abandoned and neglected his former pregnant wife for his new spark.
Yes, it could be argued the FL’s mom was responsible for rejecting his advances, but here’s what I think, she was just a maid, while the duke is a powerful, wealthy, and manipulative man. Until the evidence from the comic proves otherwise, I believe the duke is most responsible as the main culprit for “making Daphne’s mother die” – in addition to being the root cause for Daphne’s miseries up until she came to the Benedito house, and even afterwards (with reference to the previous kidnapping arc).

Daphne is a hypocrite, she hated that she had to suffer because her mom was “villian” and thought it was unfair. yet, she is taking away the happiness of the FL just because of who her mom is, which essentially her father’s fault.
You’re mad at the father? fair, at the mother? i can see that, but the daughter?? what has she done to deserve this.
