I don’t think he’s lying, it just seems probable, the reason his mother was able to survive was because SHE was the magical being. A mere human would not be able to take the magic during pregnancy and childbirth.
and maybe, it was part of the conversation, but it was omitted from our view.
maybe FL would go through something in the future that will kind of bestow strength to her to be able to bear magical children. idk
