I honestly can understand why the Emperor neglected Etienne, even if it definitely wasn’t the right thing to do.
I mean, imagining being r@ped, your r@pist being the one who m*rdered both of your brothers. Then, this same r@pist ends up carrying your child. And also m*rdering anyone who could get in the path that she decided of the child in question.
The Emperor is pretty obviously terrified of the Empress, and she clearly takes advantage of that. I can’t blame him for what he has done, even if it definitely wasn’t our dear Etienne’s fault.
