His son and the butler put those women in the Count’s bedroom so he won’t touch her much.
The guy actually thought she was into vouyerism, true, but he’s a douche nonetheless. He tried to “humble” her by saying she’s not pretty, then attempted to get her jealous/scandalised/obsessed over him with his shitty behaviour.
Then saw she was cute, competent and more mature than he thought and now wants her.
The divorce thing was to make her beg him, because he’s so delusional he fancies himself irresistible.
