So historically, at least in Europe, it was not uncommon for royalty to marry at a very young age, but they were still treated like kids. It was mostly a marriage on paper, sometimes they wouldn’t even go to live with each other until they can of age (usually considered 16) and definitely weren’t expected to consummate the marriage till they came of age.
