… the “i don’t like calling you valrose” makes it obvious that he wants to call her by her first name but because of some reason doesn’t
plus with the information of the book, she should have seen this was his way of protecting her

I just went back to the first chapter, and when he went to address her to ask her to come over and hang out, he stopped and corrected himself to use her general last name. Not sure what that means, but there’s some additional information.
