Summary
My Husband and I Cannot Live in the Same World
Mellie never fooled herself into believing she was more than a mere burden. Since childhood, she had been a leech to House Felton who relied on her mother’s friendship with the former Duchess Felton. Even so, it was inevitable that she came to harbor feelings for her most cherished playmate, Young Master Edric. But things start to change when Edric gets engaged. The former duchess begins treating her coldly, and her childhood friend insists that she remains by his side forever. Mellie has never had agency over her own life. But surely Edric has her best interests in mind, right…?

I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT EACH CHARACTER:
Mellie:She loves the Young Master, but lacks the courage to declare herself. She prefers to be part of his family (like a sister) or get married soon, rather than see the Duke married to a family and her as a simple visitor, without having any position.
Young Master: He is interested in Mellie, doing everything he can to keep her by his side and not marry anyone, but he has a disturbing side (big red flag).
Young Master’s mother: She is a detestable person, doing everything to get Mellie to leave her house, even setting her up to marry a totally dubious and old man. She is also afraid of her son.
Fiance: She sees marriage as a way to increase her status, and she always brings her lover along on visits to the Young Master’s house (not to mention that she and her lover make out at the Young Master’s house).
Bride’s lover, aka keychain:He has liked the Young Master’s fiancée since he was a child, being his first in everything, but he is disappointed by what she has become. I feel that something will happen between him and Mellie (although I don’t like the thoughts he has about her).
