Bro I might be alone on this one but considering she had no past life but the prophecy book, her father the emperor isn’t as bad as other fathers like Claude etc.. Might just be me though

just think about it from the point of view of some strategic in the story: the king can’t assume elincia is his daughter right away: someone might deceived philomel about her being fake and tried to replace her with some other girl to get closer to the throne and then delete the king himself… if this was elincia’s mother plan and that book was all her writing or even the grand magician then it all makes sense
