      Ok so there is one thing about her husband you seem to forget, he is fucking crazy. Like the novel the fl was brought in literally depicts her death as being consumed alive (not erotically, cannidbolism). And considering all of his other feats of intelligence, influence, and magical power, he is by far the biggest threat. Also the fl does not know if she can trust him cuz he is a pathological liar, sociopath, and sadist.
