For those confused:
The count is her biological father. She is an illegitimate child. He planned to use her longer. He also realized too late that he still needed her. She was too smart to throw away. There is some problem with his first daughter making it hard for her to be used politically.
The white haired servant knew this and tried to fake her death, but there was a mix up because of the count and her body went missing. The servant basically said he should be the one to handle this and the count agrees.
The count is now worried she might still be alive and give away his secrets.
