Really… Why would she wear the locket outside of her clothes where the stepsister and stepmother could see it? Why wouldn’t she hide the letters when she was forbidden from writing to her brother?

She lied when she said she was always cautious. MC is a bit too dumb, I can’t really understand her since she is constantly rebelling against their decisions when she doesn’t yet have any power. If you don’t have the strength to rebel yet, you have to hide your true intentions and activities until you do. Well, guess we will see what happens…
