i am not sure if my thinking is weird or wrong.
But i have feeling, the reason he keeps showing up and takes her away or helps her, is to protect her. Since he knows she is way weaker then the people of his kingdom.
And he may know that there would be plenty of people that would do anthing to get rid of her or oppresse her or even use her, to get more power.
While if that is true, he has a very straight forward and clear way showing it, but still sends a hint of a warning, to becareful not to mess with her.
Again it may be my weird thinking or i am wrong, but that is how i see it.
