That’s too much dude even if u have trauma u have to talk to her
Aysouda
I don’t know who should I get angry at …
wendkouni
the doctor….(mostly)
obito 33
I mean how could she not tell him , something serious as that
ooralie
tbh i think he’s way too traumatized from everything that happened to him, that’s why he’s reacting so intensely. ofc it’s not madelyn’s fault either, but he needs therapy, which probably wasn’t available back then. i think they were both just in seriously terrible circumstances
THA EMPRAH
Yeaah, that doctor put the last nail…. Well, that’s fucked up.

Do you guys really think that hes mentally in a place to communicate? He’s been drinking, he’s undergone electroshock therapy recently due to his PTSD and has overheard the maids gossiping about his wife and his doctor, which is a shitty thing to do for the maid i really hate them for that, and not only all of that he’s still grieving the deaths of his close family and comrades during the war. Im not trying to justify his behaviour, but saying that he should just communicate is just not a choice in his case, especially when he’s clearly spiralling

stop having pity on the FL ffs.
ML is is suffering brutally.
a physical scar can heal over time.
but mental scars are far worse to come over, and in this case, war mental scars.
He was getting better, BEFORE the so called doctor showed up, it was pretty clear.
But after he showed up, everything became a mess.
The oh so pityfull FL trust the doctor blindly.
And of course the maids, are just straight up freaking stupid, i wonder how they even could be allowed to work at that place.

It’s completely her fault for his behavior, dude already had a perm trauma from war and now he got brainwashed and had added fear of being useless garbage who doesn’t deserve her because of dr that she brought into his house and asked him to follow the treatment. Not only that, but her refusing to see him and talk to him through that entire process just made things even worst.
No matter what anyone says, pretending to be ignorant is also a sin. Only watching and listening can be prosecuted by law in the modern era.
She honestly deserves it, and is not worth staying with him. Even if she had no choice in the matter to merry him, she should had either kept quite and not care or used her shallow ignorant brain for once. I was already getting frustrated of her behavior before dr, but now I am basically furious at how ignorant someone can be yet still insist of blaming others for their own mistakes.
Gonna read few more and hope she grows as a character as there were already signs that she is not as ignorant and shallow as she used to be.
That said, if she does not have any character growth I will just drop this.

I am so tired to see that women are always the villain.
Gosh, she is a victim! Her father was a stupid and egoistic asshaul, the society don’t want informed and capable women.
She was a child. And she don’t have a clue about the war, nobody knows at the time. In fact people wouldn’t know the truth about the war. It was too much.
Just forget, it’s over. You’re alive, don’t make a fuss about it.
Is she perfect? No. Did she make mistake? Of course.
Is he perfect? No. Did he make mistake? Of course.
Did they tried? Yes. It’s take time.
The doc is the villain.
Those two, they were two broken soul. Don’t compare there wounds. They were equally destroyed.
Not just him. She lost everything too.

That husband is selfish for not clearing things with her and trusting the gossip than getting her side. Yes, much better to get out of that hell of a cage. I don’t like her to get married to him even on her second life. She deserve better.

How sad to not have a good communication with your partner!

This misunderstanding is so sad. Phycology/ psychiatry of the time was torture. After going through that and listening to who knows what the doctor said in those sessions, it is understandable that his mind cracked in a sense. Unfortunately, she was young and sheltered and therefore too naive and trusting. She allowed her husband to be a lab rat, because, like must of us, we trust the advice of medical professionals. However, she doesn’t seem to realize that they were getting along finally and the change coincides with Dr Arlington taking over treatment. They say hindsight is 20/20. So hopefully, she can look back on her first life a bit objectively, so with her and Ian can have a better life this time around

I think this is a case of no one is at fault, but everything is awful.
She didn’t even really know the word Trauma, and she has no idea of the modern discoveries of psychology. She trusted the doctor who told her what she was doing would help, as most of us would trust an authority in a field we know nothing about. Anything a theoretical physicist tells me is absolutely true until another tells me it isn’t.
The doctor is a bit ick for trying to steal her -true. But they really did think that electroshock and isolation would help in this time period instead of socialization and support. He’s doing the best practices he knows. He’s seen someone who WOULD Excel as a nurse and has talent in following his directions as he means them. Still a bit messed up he wants her to go with him, but not as bad as we think because we only see her and the Earl’s perspectives.
The Earl is majorly traumatized, and then is being tortured while his wife watches. I’m sure some part of him knows she thinks she’ll helping, but it’s drowned out by his support network vanishing and the new torture and isolation he’s going through. His actions still aren’t RIGHT, but absolutely understandable. It’s like asking someone who’s drowning not to flail – they know it’s better to calm down but every cell in their body tells them to panic.

Yeah yeah blame everything on the fl. 🙄 I mean it was 1914. No one understood PTSD and shock therapy was a new effective procedure then. (I mean in real life back then too.) Fl believed that damn doctor because she genuinely wanted the ml to get better. They both believed that doctor. Even the ml said he wanted to get better and was willing to endure the procedure. Same as in the modern days, if the doctor says there’s a new cancer drug that can boost effectiveness of chemotherapy, there’ll definitely be many patients who are willing to be guinea pigs and be injected with some mysterious poison called drug into their bodies, wishing to be cured. Could you really blame the fl for that? And from my opinion, after the therapy the ml just turned back to his old self though. 😅 Just mean, broken and toxic.
