It’s just the family, the pride themselves in purity and/or power. Incest in common to an extent in her family and everyone is basically half-siblings so it’s kind of messy with who’s who and new siblings are constantly being popped out every few years. Constant need to reproduce, most people(including maids and servants) are all Archelles or whatever. If they aren’t good enough to perform proper tasks then they become maids to serve their better siblings. It’s just a twisted family is all.

Dion and fortune or whatever his name is are the same trash, the only difference is one of them is stupid, and Jeremy, let’s be real the only reason Jem is like this is because he’s trapped in that house with everybody else and if you don’t show your worst side you get eaten.
