Ok so,even if FL is a commoner adopted by royalty and her maid is a lower class noble, mariel doesn’t have the right to treat FL that way because the emperor adopted FL that means FL is an adopted princess

They’re just annoyed and insecure cuz she got adopted by the Emperor. Who wouldn’t be jealous by that? The maid is clouded with jealousy and hatred. Back in their days it’s really difficult to rise in the hierarchy. Hunger and poverty is always the problem.
