Good boy, Erik.
Words can never be unsaid, but I do hope their relationship can be repaired even if it can never go back to the same ease. Serena was shockingly perceptive when it came to the motivation for Erik’s feelings. She handled that well.
Also, I get that they’ve been leaning into the role reversal between the couple, but putting the veil on Ricco was a bit much for me. Ricco doesn’t have to assume the woman’s role in order to highlight Serena’s strength. I loved when Ricco first crowded Serena up against a door. It was so unexpected because he’s usually so careful around her that he gives off lovesick/weak damsel vibes. Confidence is a good look on him.
I’ve also loved that the author lets Serena attend important events in dresses while still preferring pants. Often, authors lean too hard into ‘masculinizing’ female characters to show that a woman is strong and I feel this author has made a valiant effort of not falling into that pit. Olivia and Lorne are also strong while being unapologetically feminine.
