Because dragons hate humans and her family making her return to her clan and her getting angry and shoving you away was the better choice for her at the time? If she thinks you hate her you won’t come looking for her. Guess you didn’t know her well enough or love her enough to question her decision and at least try to check back on her.
Personally if I was engaged and suddenly I was told they hated me and had to leave to go back home, it’d be sus.
