Personally I think the entire novel FL read was false, or better put it, it was hiding true villain of the story which was her ex fiancé. He most likely set up Orianna to take blame and look like villainess, Dylan never was actually going for the throne but was trying to protect it. Her ex fiancé most likely manipulated OFL and OML of the novel in order to get rid of Dylan. When Orianna from novel died Dylan most likely took her body in order to give her a proper barrier, also with no choice left since OFL and OML fell to ex fiancé trap, Dylan change his plan of getting a throne or trying to reason with OML since they are half brothers (though with his personality so far I would rather think he would go for the throne). He probably lost due his brotherly love or some type of cliché. And from OML and OFL pov Dylan as well as Orianna would look like bad peoples which is why they were presented that way in the first place, but in truth its all current Orianna’s ex fiancé. Most likely if the novel ever received a second part the truth would be revealed with either true villain getting throne or OML protecting throne. That said, one thing bothered me ever since I started reading this… It’s her insistence of who characters are based on novel, even though after her fiancé betrayed her, it should been clear to her that there was something wrong with novel or that characters aren’t exactly the same as they are in the novel at least. Also for Dylan’s fiancée from novel, I am pretty sure that girl pressured her father to merry Dylan and not that she was pressured from her family.
Well, this is just my take on it, curious to see if this is how it will turn out to be
