Ailec is SO selfish. He doesn’t seem to care how much she suffers or how miserable she is, as long as she is with him. He treats her like a possession he is entitled to. In their first life, She was trapped; a slave for him. Granted she was feed well and clothed better as Empress, but she still suffered all sorts of abuse from poisoning to mental and emontal trauma.
He still doesn’t see her as an equal in this life. He has done nothing to redeem himself and by not listening to her concerns, he is only driving her further away. I know he needs time to set plans in motion, but he still seems to be putting his needs and wants first.
